Terms of use.
Last updated Oct 2026. These terms cover your use of Home Fieldbook, published by Christopher Kennedy. By using the site you agree to them.
A reference, not professional advice
Home Fieldbook is an educational reference. It is not legal, engineering, architectural or code-compliance advice, and it doesn't replace a licensed professional or your local building department. Codes are adopted and amended locally, and your code official has the final say. See the disclaimer.
Drawings are illustrative
Drawings explain ideas. They are not to scale and are not construction documents.
Your account and purchase
- A Lifetime purchase gives one person access to the full fieldbook for as long as we publish it, including updates to the current edition.
- Please don't share your sign-in or redistribute the paid content.
- Prices may change. A change never affects a purchase you've already made.
Refunds
If the fieldbook isn't for you, email hello@homefieldbook.com within 30 days of your purchase and we'll refund you in full. No questions asked. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, and your access to the paid chapters ends when the refund is issued.
Using the content
The text, diagrams and the way the fieldbook is put together belong to Christopher Kennedy. You may use Home Fieldbook for your own projects. Copying, reselling or republishing it, including putting its drawings in client materials, isn’t allowed without our permission (Pro will include client use when it launches).
Liability
We work hard to keep the numbers accurate, but the fieldbook is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from relying on it. Always verify requirements for your project.
